ईश्वर में आस्था

वस्यो भूयाय वसुमान यज्ञो वसु वंशिषीय वसुमान्‌ भूयासं वसु मयि धेहि।।

(अथर्ववेद 16/9/4)

भावार्थ : हे मनुष्यो! ईश्वर पर आस्था रखो और सदैव यह प्रयत्न करते रहो कि परोपकार के द्वारा संसार में श्रेष्ठ से श्रेष्ठ पद को प्राप्त करो।

संदेश : इस मंत्र में मनुष्य को तीन निर्देश दिए गए हैं। पहला, ईश्वर पर विश्वास रखो; दूसरा, परोपकार का मार्ग अपनाओ और तीसरा, श्रेष्ठता को प्राप्त करो।

ईश्वर पर विश्वास बड़ी ही शानदार चीज़ है। अबोध बालक मां की गोद में पहुंच कर या पिता की उंगली पकड़ लेने पर पूरी तरह आश्वस्त हो जाता है। उसे अपने माता-पिता पर पूरा विश्वास है और यह विश्वास ही उसे भयमुक्त कर देता है। हमें भी परमेश्वर से पूर्ण निष्ठा, श्रद्धा, आस्था व विश्वास का रिश्ता बना लेना चाहिए। रिश्ता बनाने से बहुत लाभ होता है। एक गरीब व साधारण सी लड़की किसी राजा को पति बनाकर समर्पण कर देती है तो उसकी रानी हो जाती है, सारी संपत्ति की मालकिन बन जाती है। ऐसे ही भगवान से रिश्तेदारी कर लेने में लाभ ही लाभ है।

दूसरी बात है परोपकार। हमें सदैव यह ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि प्रत्येक प्राणी में उसी परमात्मा का अंश हैं सबके साथ परस्पर प्रेम व सद्‌भाव का व्यवहार करते हुए सबकी उन्नति का प्रयास करना चाहिए। दूसरों के साथ ऐसा कोई व्यवहार नहीं करना चाहिए जो हमें स्वयं अपने लिए पसंद न हो। सज्जन व्यक्तियों को संगठित करके संसार में व्याप्त अनीतियों व कुरीतियों से लोहा लेने में सदैव तत्पर रहना चाहिए और सृजनात्मक गतिविधियों को प्रोत्साहन देकर सभी की भलाई के कार्य ही करने चाहिए।

ईश्वर पर विश्वास और परोपकार के मार्ग पर चलकर ही मनुष्य श्रेष्ठता को प्राप्त कर पाता है। आज लोग भगवान को भूलकर स्वार्थ में अंधे होकर हर प्रकार की अनीति में लगे हुए हैं। चारों ओर भ्रष्टाचार, बेइमानी, लूट-खसोट का ही धंधा चल रहा है। अनीति से लोग लाखों-करोड़ों की कमाई करके इतराते फिरते हैं पर असल में वे जीते जी अपने लिए नरक का निर्माण कर रहे हैं। हमें गायत्री मंत्र के ‘वरेण्यं’ शब्द को सदैव ध्यान में रखना चाहिए जो नीचता, विलासिता, शैतानी, दुराचार, स्वार्थपरता के निकृष्ट मार्ग से बचाकर आत्मगौरव, सदाचार, महानता व परमार्थ के श्रेष्ठ मार्ग पर चलने की हमें प्रेरणा देता है। यह श्रेष्ठ मार्ग ही सर्वकल्याणकारी है।

श्रेष्ठ पुरुष वही होते हैं जो बिना किसी स्वार्थ के केवल दूसरों की भलाई करना ही अपना धर्म समझते हैं। दूसरों को कष्ट में देखकर उन्हें स्वयं गहन पीड़ा होने लगती है और वे उसके निराकरण में प्राणपण से जुट जाते हैं। ये देवकोटि में गिने जाते हैं। दूसरे वे लोग हैं जो अपना भी कार्य संवार लेते हैं और दूसरों का भी कार्य बना देते हैं। ये मनुष्य कोटि में आते हैं। तीसरे राक्षस कोटि के व्यक्ति होते हैं जो अपना काम तो निकाल लेते हैं पर दूसरों का काम बिगाड़ देते हैं।

किसी भी व्यक्ति में दूसरों का उपकार करने की जितनी अधिक भावना होती है उतनी ही उसमें मनुष्यता होती है। वे ही जीवन में यशस्वी होते हैं।

Vasya Bhuyan Vasuman Yagyo Vasu Vanshiya Vasumana Bhuyanasam Vasya Maye

 (Atharvaveda 16/9/4)

 Meaning: O humans!  Have faith in God and always try to achieve the highest position in the world through benevolence.

 Message: In this mantra, three instructions are given to man.  First, believe in God;  Second, pursue the path of benevolence and third, achieve excellence.

 Faith in God is a great thing.  The innocent child becomes fully convinced upon reaching the mother's lap or holding the father's finger.  He has full faith in his parents and this belief frees him.  We should also have a relationship of complete loyalty, devotion, faith and trust from God.  It is very beneficial to have a relationship.  A poor and ordinary girl surrenders her husband to a king, then becomes his queen, becomes the mistress of all wealth.  In this way, there is a benefit in having a relationship with God.

 The other thing is philanthropy.  We should always keep in mind that every living being has the same part of the same God, and we should strive for the advancement of everyone by treating each other with mutual love and harmony.  We should not treat others what we ourselves do not like.  Organized gentlemen should always be ready to take on the evil and evil prevalent in the world and should always do good for all by encouraging creative activities.

 Only by walking on the path of faith and benevolence on God, man achieves superiority.  Today people forget God and blindly engage in selfishness.  The business of corruption, dishonesty, loot and plunder is going on everywhere.  People wandering by earning millions and crores from the past, but in reality they are living and creating hell for themselves.  We should always keep in mind the word 'Varenyam' of Gayatri Mantra, which inspires us to walk on the path of self-righteousness, virtue, greatness and charitableness, avoiding the evil path of lowliness, luxury, satanism, misconduct, selfishness.  This best path is all-inclusive.

 The best men are those who consider their religion to be only for the benefit of others without any selfishness.  Seeing others in distress, he himself becomes deeply pained and gets ready to die in his resolve.  They are counted in Devkoti.  Others are those who take care of their work and make others work as well.  These humans fall in the category.  Third demons are people of some sort who take out their work but spoil the work of others.

 The more a person has the feeling of benefiting others, the more there is a human in him.  They are famous in life.
